Talk about an adorable kids' game! In Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends: Scavenger Hunt (Retail $19.99), The Game Factory brings the cutest bugs you'll ever see to PCs everywhere. Meet Miss Spider, Bounce, Squirt, Shimmer, Dragon, and their Sunny Patch neighbors in this scavenging challenge for kids of all ages. Never before have creepy crawlies been so fun and charming.
You'll start out in The Cozy Hole, where Miss Spider will assign each little bug with a scavenger hunt of their own. Play as each of the four characters, Bounce, Shimmer, Dragon, and Squirt, and roam all around the Sunny Patch to collect all of your items. You have a scavenger hunt list to show you the items you need and an inventory panel to show you which you have already found. All you need to do is keep a sharp eye out for the items scattered on the ground, behind rocks, in the leaves of trees, or anywhere else that such things as berries, flower petals, acorns, and other natural debris could be hiding. When you find an item, drag it to your inventory and watch your character do a little victory dance. There are three difficulty levels of game play, and in each the items get a little harder to find, and instead of pictures in the hunt list, you'll have descriptions of the items, so it takes a little more brain power to know what you need to find.
Along the path of your hunts, you'll come across other characters in need of your help. They just so happen to possess an item that you need to add to you inventory as well. Help them out and you get their item. There are nine of these activities in all, two in each hunt and a final one at the end of the game. They get progressively harder in the three difficulty levels as well. You will complete number and color sequences inside a honeycomb, surf on a leaf to collect flower petals, guess which ant is hiding your prize by asking eliminating questions, and so much more. Don't be fooled by the cuteness of it all, some activities are quite challenging. Complete each of the activities and find all the items for each of the four characters, and Miss Spider will reward you with an extra special surprise activity to end the game.
Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends: Scavenger Hunt is suited for very small children as well as older ones. By being able to change the difficulty levels of the hunts and activities, with such adorable characters, this game will provide hours of diversion. Plus, as well as being entertaining, the hunts and activities challenge the mind and reinforce a range of thinking skills. I would definitely recommend putting this game on your holiday gift list.
