The problem with the weather is that you never know what it will be like from day to day, unless you turn the television on and wait for the local weather to cycle around, or take the time to get online and look it up. Brookstone has made it remarkably easier, as easy as looking outside your window to determine what the weather for the rest of the week. The 5 Day Wireless Weather Watcher (Retail $85) is a sleek little gadget, at about 4 in. square, and about 3/4 in. thick, that either mounts on the wall or sits with its retractable stand on a table, to eliminate your need to use any other source for local weather forecasting.
On this tiny piece of décor is a whole plethora of handy information. Not only can you find out what the weather conditions and temperature are at the very moment, as well as the predicted highs and lows for the day, but you get the forecasted weather conditions plus high and low temps for the next 4 days. It's great! You don't even have to open your blinds to know exactly what the day is like outside. How is this marvel possible you ask? Well, that is the cool part. The Weather Watcher receives your 5 day forecast wirelessly using a radio signal from AccuWeather.com, no computer needed. The information is real-time, so you can watch for changes throughout the day.
The weather condition icons are easy to read. A bright shining sun for sunny weather, a curvy cloud for overcast weather, and others for partly cloudy, thunder storms, rain, drizzle, windy, blustery, snow, flurries, wintry mix, haze, and any combination of these. The current day's weather is larger than the other 4 days, and takes up the entire top half of the screen, with the bottom half divided into fourths to accommodate the next 4 days. The current time is in the top left corner, and is also detected wirelessly through AccuWeather, so you know everything is up-to-date. The default temperature setting is in Fahrenheit but you can also set the unit to display Celsius. Your geographical location is automatically recognized, but you can change the setting to one of 5 cities around your area. This means that you can take this device with you on vacation, since your location will be wirelessly recognized and updated to fit wherever you are traveling.
This device really is quite cool! I love being able to wake up in the morning and just look over to my dresser to see what sort of day is awaiting me. Plus, I'm not the kind of person who wants to take the time to sift through the Internet or the local news stations to find the forecast for the rest of the week. So, I am usually clueless when it comes to the weather, and sometimes unprepared. But now that Brookstone has come up with this no hassle substitute, the 5 Day Wireless Weather Watcher, and made it so easy to stay atop the changing weather scene, I am always up-to-date with knowledge about the weather today, tomorrow, and for the rest of the week. I'm not sure how I managed without one, and I'm not sure how you are managing right now.
